True Meditation (“the App”) takes your privacy seriously and complies with applicable laws including GDPR and Korea's Personal Information Protection Act. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
01Information We Collect
As a meditation tool, the App collects only the minimum information necessary to provide the service.
- Account information: email address, display name (including identifiers provided by Apple when using its sign-in)
- Meditation records: session duration, breath counts, PS score, mode, cumulative statistics
- Device information: OS version, app version, device model (for error analysis and compatibility)
- Subscription status: subscription receipt and trial/active state provided by the App Store
The App does not request access to microphone, camera, location, contacts, or photos.
02How We Use Information
- To save meditation sessions and display statistics (Legal basis: Performance of contract)
- Cross-device synchronization (viewing records on other devices signed in with the same account) (Legal basis: Performance of contract)
- Verifying and managing Premium subscription status (including the 30-day sleep-meditation trial policy) (Legal basis: Performance of contract)
- Analyzing error logs and crash data to improve app stability (Legal basis: Legitimate interests)
- Notifying you of important service changes (policy updates, etc.) (Legal basis: Performance of contract)
- Analyzing usage statistics to understand app usage patterns and improve service quality (Legal basis: Legitimate interests)
The App does not use an ad-supported model and does not use your data for advertising targeting.
03Third-Party Sharing & Processors
We do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party marketing. We rely on the following processors to operate the service:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, App Check, Crashlytics, Analytics) — authentication, data storage, sync, crash reporting, usage analytics
- Apple App Store — payment processing, subscription, app distribution
- RevenueCat — Subscription state management and receipt validation. Data processed: subscription receipts, user identifiers, and subscription history.
Each processor protects data under its own privacy policy. We share only what is necessary to operate the service.
International data transfers: Google Firebase processes data transfers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). RevenueCat and Apple apply equivalent safeguards for international transfers.
For users in Japan: Your data may be transferred outside Japan via Firebase and other processors. Each processor maintains appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law.
04Data Retention
- While your account is active: meditation records and account information are retained.
- Upon account deletion: all personal information and meditation records are permanently deleted within 30 days (including backup rotation cycles).
- Legal retention: purchase receipts may be retained for up to 5 years as required by applicable law (e.g., e-commerce law).
05Your Rights (GDPR & Beyond)
Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights:
- Right to access: to obtain a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: to correct inaccurate information
- Right to erasure (right to be forgotten): exercisable immediately via [Profile → Delete Account] in the app
- Right to portability: to receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object: to withdraw consent for certain processing
- Right to lodge a complaint: with your local data protection authority (Korea: PIPC / EU: your national DPA)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the email below. We respond within 30 days.
To verify your identity, please submit your request from the email address associated with your account.
06Children's Privacy
This service is not directed to children under 14 (a threshold that satisfies both the parental-consent requirement under Article 22-2 of the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and the under-13 protection standard of the U.S. COPPA). If we become aware that personal information from a child under 14 has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.
